OVERHAUL SERVICE

  • First the movement is carefully disassembled from the watch case.

  • The watchmaker begins to dismantle the watch movement part by part. A simple mechanical movement can have approximately 130 parts. The dismantling process can take approximately 1 to 2 hours of work, it all depends on the complexity of it.

  • After the movement is completely disassembled, the watchmaker pre-washes it, then most of the watch components are put into the watch washing machine, which uses 3 different specialized liquids to clean watch parts.

  • Once the movement parts are washed and dried, the watchmaker begins to assemble the movement part by part. During this process, the contact points, high pressure and low pressure points of the movement are lubricated with different oils and grease. A movement may require approximately 5 types of oil. The process of assembling the movement can last from 2 to 6 hours approximately, depending on the complexity of the movement.

  • When the movement is fully assembled, the calibration process begins, along with the help of a specialized Timegrapher machine, the balance of the watch is calibrated to ensure the accuracy of the watch’s time.

  • Finally, after the work on the movement is finished, it is reassembled in the watch case, which has been properly cleaned and dried, as well as the seals properly replaced and lubricated. When the watch is closed, the vacuum test is done together with a specialized Proofmaster machine to test the sealing of the watch. Once the watch is properly sealed, it is placed in the Final Test machine that simulates the movements of the watch when it is in use. The calibration evaluation process can take approximately a week, since the operation of the watch is reviewed in the charging process with movement, and discharge process at rest.

POLISHING SERVICE

  • First, the band or bracelet is removed from the watch case.

  • Later, the watch movement is removed from the case and is isolated to prevent contamination.

  • With the help of machines, tools, polishing pastes, different abrasives, and polishing brushes, the process begins. The polishing of a watch can take approximately to 8 hours, depending on the complexity, material, and details of the watch.

  • In our workshop we make sure to offer the same polishing finish recommended by the factory, in this way we help to take care of the value of the watch in the market.

  • When the polishing of all the external components of the watch have been duly finished, washed and dried, and the new and lubricated seals duly installed, the watch movement is reassembled in the case. Finally, the vacuum test is done with the help of the Proofmaster specialized machine to ensure the sealing of the watch.

BATTERY SERVICE

  • The watch is carefully opened.

  • Taking care with the watch circuit, the old battery is removed from the movement, it is checked for signs of battery sulfation, if no sulfation is seen, the watchmaker proceeds to clean the contact areas of the battery to install the new battery.

  • In the event that the old battery shows signs of leakage, the watch circuit is dismantled to check if there is oxidation of the circuit or of any mechanical part. The watch circuit is tested to see if it has continuity, if the circuit is properly working, we will recommend an overhaul to the mechanical part of the movement.

  • Once the watch is in optimum working condition, the watch case and bracelet are properly cleaned and dried, the watch seals are checked and properly lubricated, the watch mechanism is reassembled to the case, and the case properly sealed.

  • Finally we proceed with the vacuum test, with the help of the Proofmaster specialized machine to test the sealing of watches.
